Monarchy of Kenya


The monarchy of Kenya was the system of government in which a hereditary monarch was the sovereign of Kenya from 1963 to 1964. Kenya shared the Sovereign with the other Commonwealth realms, including the United Kingdom. The monarch's constitutional roles were mostly delegated to the Governor-General of Kenya. The royal succession was governed by the English Act of Settlement of 1701.
