Maiwand is a village in Afghanistan and the district center of Maiwand District of Kandahar Province. It is located 50 miles northwest of Kandahar. The area is irrigated by the Helmand and Arghandab Valley Authority.[1]

The village is notable for the General Burrows.

Maiwand is also a prestigious and proud name for Afghan males.
