Introduction: This document describes requirements to be placed on the Media Gateway Control Protocol. When the word protocol is used on its own in this document it implicitly means the Media Gateway Control Protocol. In this document, the key words MUST, MUST NOT, REQUIRED, SHALL, SHALL NOT, SHOULD, SHOULD NOT, RECOMMENDED, MAY, and OPTIONAL are to be interpreted as described in RFC 2119 [1] and indicate requirement levels for the protocol.
