Excerpt: Numerical approximations. The ideas developed above are most helpful when exact solutions are not available and we must rely upon numerical approximations to understand the behavior of our solutions. However, before we can consider such examples, we must first modify our numerical techniques from Section 8.1 to the current situation. Since the second order Runge-Kutta method is more accurate than Euler's method, we will discuss only the modification of the former.
