Excerpt: ANNUAL DATA BACK TO 1993 AND MONTHLY DATA BACK TO 1995 ARE SHOWN IN THIS REPORT Construction put in place during May 1998 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $633.5 billion, 2(ñ5) percent below the revised April estimate of $643.4 billion. The May figure represents a 4(ñ5) percent increase over May 1997. In constant (1992) dollars, the May annual rate was $526.1 billion, 2(ñ5) percent below the revised estimate of $534.7 billion for April. DESCRIPTION OF CURRENT REVISIONS In each May report, unadjusted value-in-place estimates are revised to incorporate additional data not previously available. Seasonally adjusted statistics are also revised using newly computed seasonal factors. The revised factors for January 1995-December 1997 were computed using data through April 1998. The revised factors for January-May 1998 were computed using data through May 1998. See Appendix D, Adjustments for Seasonal Variations and Cost Changes.
