The standardizatiorz of sanitary measures to be taken in ships is equally iinyortant, both to safeguard the health of travellers and to prevent the spreacl of iqection fiom one country to anotlzer. Several Member States of WHO espressed the 11.ish that tlze Organization slzould publish a guide to ship sanitation, ~t.lziclz it3ould supplement the requirenzents of the International Sanitary Regulations and it'ould form a companion vohmie to the aviation guide.
