The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Cancer Institute thank the staff in state and metropolitan area cancer registries for their commitment to cancer surveillance and control programs. The consistent efforts of registry staff to collect complete, timely, and highquality cancer incidence data are essential for monitoring progress toward reducing the burden of cancer in the United States. Appendix A provides a list of state and metropolitan area cancer registries in the National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) and Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) programs.
