Excerpt
Excerpt: Information digest of section 4 Section 4 outlines the key components of pest risk analysis and explains its growing importance to plant health in general and in managing invasive alien species. It covers the revision of an international standard for phytosanitary measures (namely ISPM 11) to account for environmental risks associated with plant pests (including loss of biodiversity). It reports on support for application of this standard and the adaptation of regional standards for risk assessment to accord with it. Section 4 then looks at a tool for weed risk assessment and its application, and at cooperation between expert organizations to achieve optimum results from pest risk analysis.
