Excerpt: Washington, D.C.-Holding 18 patents and with more than a quarter century of experience in the technology industry, Mike Wash joins the Government Printing Office (GPO) as Chief Technical Officer and co-Director of the Office of Innovation and New Technology. In his new role, Wash will provide guidance and development of technology designed to accelerate the transformation of the GPO into a digital information processing facility. “Mike has led projects at large organizations that have resulted in successful breakthroughs in science. He has the advanced technology background and the real world experience to build the next generation information system for the GPO,” says Bruce James, Public Printer of the United States and the agency’s CEO. “Mike will be the architect of the agency’s new information system, evaluate new technologies for their application to Government information and build an applied research and development team at GPO.”
