Excerpt
Excerpt: Everyone with a stake in a local Weed and Seed strategy has an interest in knowing whether the program is operating as intended and whether it is effective and worthwhile for designated neighborhoods and individuals. Accurate information is vital for understanding the success or failure of a Weed and Seed strategy, and is essential for anyone wanting to expand or replicate activities that work, or fix ones that don't. Program administrators responsible for managing Weed and Seed’s many technical aspects also must provide information to the Executive Office for Weed and Seed (EOWS) and other supporting agencies to enable them to judge whether their resources are being well spent. These interests can be met through comprehensive local Weed and Seed evaluations. A comprehensive evaluation includes a process evaluation that describes how the program operates and whether it is operating as you and other stakeholders intended it to operate, as well as an impact evaluation, which describes how well your program operates and whether it is effective in reaching stated goals.
