Yemen has competed in every Summer Olympic Games since 1984. They have never competed in the Winter Games. Prior to Yemeni unification in 1990, North Yemen and South Yemen competed separately. North Yemen took part in the 1984 and 1988 Summer Games, while South Yemen competed at the 1988 Summer Games only. Yemen has never won an Olympic medal.[1]

The Yemen Olympic Committee was formed in 1971[2] and recognized by the IOC in 1981.
