Deemed university

Deemed to be University is a status equal to that of a University granted to an institution for higher education in India.

Deemed to be Universities in various States/UTs according to the year of their establishment

Out of the total 129 Deemed to be Universities, 74 were established during 2002-2008 within a span of 7 years. Among the states, Tamil Nadu has the maximum number of Universities with 29.[1]
